Vata

Air & Space · Grounding · Warming · Nourishing

Vata accumulates as anxiety, restlessness, insomnia and scattered energy. These classes are prescribed for Vata types — slow, warming, held practices that calm the nervous system and rebuild inner stability.
Pranayama prescription
Nadi Shodhana daily · Bhramari for sleep · Ujjayi throughout practice · Dirga to settle
Low intensity · 60 min
formerly: Half N’ Half

Hatha Prakriti

The classical Hatha session — 30 minutes of held asana followed by 30 minutes of pranayama and meditation. The fixed, unhurried structure is medicine for Vata. Predictability and routine directly calm the scattered nervous system. Poses are held, not flowed. Every breath is conscious. This is the foundation of everything.
Low intensity · 60 min
formerly: Yoga for Insomnia

Nidra Restore

Insomnia is the most common Vata imbalance — the mind that will not stop, the body that will not settle. This class combines restorative forward bends, Legs-Up-The-Wall, and a closing Yoga Nidra to guide the nervous system into the delta brainwave state equivalent to hours of deep sleep. One session changes how you wake up.
Low intensity · 60 min
formerly: Stress Management

Vata Calm

In Ayurveda, stress is a Vata disorder — too much air, an overwhelmed nervous system, a mind spinning between too many possibilities. This class uses grounding standing poses, deep forward bends, Nadi Shodhana pranayama and a 15-minute Yoga Nidra closing to systematically reduce cortisol and restore Vata balance. The corporate prescription.
Low intensity · 60 min
formerly: Sukhsam Yoga

Suksham Vata

Suksham means subtle — this class works on the pranamaya kosha, the Vata-dominant energy body. Micro-movements, gentle joint rotations, finger and toe yoga, breath-linked subtle awareness practices. Ideal for Vata types who are anxious or restless and need gentle regulation before they can enter deeper practice. Also excellent for rehabilitation.
Low–Med · 60 min
formerly: Mobility Yoga

Vata Flow

Vata accumulates in the joints — dryness, cracking, stiffness and reduced range of motion are the calling cards of Vata imbalance in the physical body. This class targets joint lubrication and synovial fluid circulation through gentle, thorough mobilisation sequences. A natural companion to Abhyanga (Ayurvedic self-oil massage). Practice it and feel your joints remember how to move.
Low–Med · 60 min
formerly: Yoga Alignment

Sthira Yoga

Sthira — steadiness — is the first quality Patanjali asks for in a yoga posture. It is precisely what Vata lacks. This Iyengar-adjacent alignment class grounds the scattered Vata mind into precise, deliberate body awareness. Long holds, prop use, detailed cueing. The Vata student learns to inhabit their body rather than float above it. Transformative for those who “can’t switch off.”
Low intensity · 60 min
formerly: Golden Age Yoga

Vayu Seva

Vayu Seva means “serving the air element” — a dignified name for a class that honours what age genuinely brings: a natural increase in Vata that requires specific, thoughtful practice. After 60, Vata dominates — dryness, joint stiffness, disturbed sleep and anxiety all increase. This class addresses each one with chair support, gentle inversions, Nadi Shodhana and a restorative closing. For mature students who want real practice, not simplification.

Vata Restore

The most therapeutically pure Vata offering — dedicated restorative yoga with bolsters, blankets and eye bags. Zero muscular effort. Poses held for 5 to 20 minutes. The parasympathetic nervous system takes over completely. This is what burnout recovery looks like as a yoga practice. Highly recommended for students returning from illness, jet lag, or prolonged stress. One session feels like a week of sleep.

Pitta

Fire & Water · Cooling · Surrendering · Releasing

Pitta accumulates as inflammation, perfectionism, anger and burnout. These classes cool the fire through lunar sequences, long holds and the deliberate practice of surrender.
Pranayama prescription
Sitali daily · Chandra Bhedana · Sitkari · Extended exhale 1:2 ratio
Low intensity · 75–90 min
formerly: Yin Yoga

Chandra Yin

The single most powerful Pitta prescription in the studio. Long passive holds of 3 to 5 minutes in each posture directly challenge the Pitta compulsion to push, achieve and compete. The practice is the surrender — not reaching further, not improving, not optimising. Chandra (moon) is the classical Ayurvedic antidote to Pitta fire. One session teaches you more about yourself than a month of vigorous practice.
Medium · 75 min
formerly: Yin & Yang

Soma Yoga

Soma is the Vedic nectar of restoration — the cooling counterpart to Agni fire. This class begins with gentle Yang movement to satisfy Pitta’s need for activity, then transitions gradually into Yin to teach the art of release. The classical Pitta prescription: satisfy the fire, then cool it. Students who come tense and driven leave soft and still. The most complete Pitta session in the timetable.
Low–Med · 60 min
formerly: Spine Healing

Meru Yoga

Meru is the cosmic spine — the axis through which prana flows in classical yoga cosmology. Pitta accumulates in the small intestine and liver, generating chronic tension in the thoracic spine and neck. Pitta types often have rigid spines from years of over-efforting. This class decompresses with cooling backbends (Sphinx, supported Fish), forward folds, gentle twists and long Savasana. The spine learns to soften.
Low intensity · 60 min
formerly: Stress Management (Pitta)

Sheetali Yoga

Pitta stress is not anxiety — it is anger, frustration, and the compulsive need to control. Sheetali means “the cooling breath” and gives this class its identity. Cooling forward bends, supported inversions, Sitali and Sitkari pranayama, and Chandra Bhedana (left nostril breathing) are combined into a precise anti-inflammatory protocol. Designed specifically for the corporate Dubai executive who is running hot.

Chandra Flow

Moon Salutation — Chandra Namaskar — is the classical Ayurvedic antidote to Surya Namaskar. Where Sun Salutation heats and activates, Moon Salutation cools and receives. This 60-minute class is built entirely around the 17-step Chandra Namaskar sequence with Sitali pranayama and long lunar holds. Ideal on Dubai summer evenings. No other studio in the UAE offers a dedicated lunar practice class.

Hormonal Balance

Pitta governs the endocrine system — thyroid, adrenals, reproductive hormones. This class is a high-demand offering for the 35–55 professional woman in Dubai dealing with peri-menopause, thyroid disruption or PCOS. Supported Shoulderstand, Legs-Up-The-Wall, Butterfly and Supta Baddha Konasana with cooling pranayama and long Savasana. Evidence-grounded, classically rooted, deeply effective. No other Dubai studio offers this.

Kapha

Earth & Water · Energising · Heating · Igniting

Kapha accumulates as heaviness, lethargy, congestion and emotional attachment. These classes ignite Kapha through vigorous movement, heat generation and strong pranayama.
Pranayama prescription
Kapalabhati every morning · Bhastrika · Surya Bhedana · Breath of Fire
High intensity · 75–90 min
formerly: Agni Yoga

Agni Shakti

Agni Shakti — the power of fire — is LYW’s most authentically Ayurvedic class name. Agni is the digestive fire principle, the primary remedy for Kapha stagnation. This class includes Kapalabhati pranayama, strong core sequences, backbends and Surya Namaskar. The Kapha student needs challenge, not comfort, and this class delivers it without apology. Early morning. No modifications unless injury. The discipline itself is the medicine.
High intensity · 75–90 min
formerly: Ashtanga Yoga

Agni Ashtanga

The Ashtanga Primary Series is the most powerful Kapha prescription in the classical yoga arsenal. The fixed, vigorous sequence generates intense internal heat — Agni — which is the exact medicine for Kapha stagnation. The discipline of the fixed sequence also addresses Kapha’s tendency toward avoidance and resistance to change. No modifications unless injury. Early morning scheduling is essential. The sequence itself does the work.
High intensity · 60 min
formerly: Dynamic Vinyasa

Prana Vinyasa

Continuous rhythmic movement is the Kapha antidote — it prevents the Kapha tendency to slow, settle and stop. Prana Vinyasa keeps the Kapha body in constant flow throughout the session. Opens with Kapalabhati pranayama. Strong Ujjayi maintained throughout. No long rest periods during the Kapha timetable slot — Savasana is 5 minutes maximum. The energy in the room is the medicine.
High intensity · 60 min
formerly: Yoga-Tox

Shodhana Yoga

Shodhana means purification in Ayurveda — the primary Kapha treatment. Detox yoga uses twists, inversions and forward bends to stimulate the lymphatic system, liver and kidneys. This is the yoga equivalent of Virechana (therapeutic purging) from classical Panchakarma. Twists compress and release the organs. Inversions reverse lymph flow. The body clears. A serious class for serious results.
High intensity · 60 min
formerly: Yogi-Na / Music Beat Power Yoga

Nada Shakti

Nada means sound — and sound is specifically prescribed in classical Ayurveda for Kapha. Rhythmic music activates the dormant Kapha energy body at an acoustic level. This high-intensity power yoga class with energising music delivers a double Kapha prescription: physical and acoustic stimulation simultaneously. Kapha responds to community and energy — this class provides both. The most fun Kapha class on the timetable.

Kapha Rise

A 45-minute early morning ignition specifically designed for the Kapha window (6–8am) before earth-heaviness sets in. 108 Sun Salutations, Kapalabhati, standing strength poses, core sequences. No meditation. No long Savasana. No slow sections. Pure activation. This is the before-work corporate Kapha prescription for Emirates, PepsiCo and Kellogg’s team members who need to arrive at their desk fired up rather than dragging.
Meditation · Breathwork · Consciousness practices

Just Be Series — all doshas welcome

These meditation and consciousness practices benefit all three doshas. Lifestyle Yoga Just Be Series draws from Yoga Nidra, Trataka, Mudra, Pranayama, sound healing and inner silence.

formerly: Yog-Nidra

Nidra Yoga

Yoga Nidra — the practice of conscious sleep — is the supreme Vata prescription and a powerful Pitta release. Guided through the delta brainwave state, the nervous system restores at the deepest level. Should be offered as a standalone class AND embedded at the end of every Vata class.
formerly: Gong Dhyana

Nada Yoga

Sound healing (Nada) is primarily Vata therapy — vibration directly soothes the nervous system. It also cools Pitta emotional heat. Shivanshi’s signature Sunday/Wednesday sessions combine Tibetan bowls and crystal sound with restorative asana. The room feels different after an hour inside the sound.
formerly: Breath is Life

Prana Vidya

The science of breath — all three doshas addressed through targeted pranayama: Nadi Shodhana (Vata), Sitali (Pitta), Kapalabhati (Kapha). Teaches students to identify their dosha through breath and self-prescribe. The Ayurvedic system expressed entirely through breath. A class that changes how you breathe for life.
formerly: Mudra Yoga

Tattwa Mudra

Each Mudra corresponds to a specific element and therefore a dosha: Prithvi (earth) for Kapha, Agni (fire) for Pitta, Vayu (air) for Vata. Teaching Mudra with dosha awareness makes it one of the most precise Ayurvedic tools available. Students learn to self-prescribe their daily home Mudra practice — sustainable, personal, powerful.
formerly: Antar Mouna Meditation

Maunam

Inner silence — Mouna — is the antidote to Vata’s mental noise and Pitta’s compulsive analysis. Witnessing thoughts without engaging directly trains the mind to settle without forcing. One of the most therapeutically valuable and classically authentic meditation practices in the LYW offering. An evening class for when the mind refuses to stop.
formerly: Chakra Awakening and Healing

Chakra Prakriti

Root and Sacral chakras correspond to Kapha; Solar Plexus to Pitta; Heart and Throat to Vata-Pitta; Third Eye and Crown to Vata. A well-taught Chakra class addresses all doshas through their specific energy centres. This class connects the chakra map to each student’s Prakriti — making it uniquely educational and deeply personal.
